Two Faculty members of Mathematics, Islamabad Islamic University (IIU), Dr Ambareen Afsar and Dr Tariq Javed have completed their PhD thesis from the Quaid-i-Azam University. These research scholars have published 12 and six research papers along with a book titled, 'A Homological Approach to the Theory of Monoids, which is a literature addition to the subject of Mathematics.
Meanwhile, seven students took MSc degrees in Mathematics while two of them published their research work in international journals. Further, the Chairman, Mathematics, IIU, Dr Rahmat Ellahi has published 12 papers on different topics including Exact solutions for Colette flows for fourth grade fluids, influence of variable viscosity and viscous dissipation on non-Newtonian flow, an analytical solution, communication in Non-linear science and numerical simulations, unsteady magneto hydrodynamic non-Newtonian flow due to non-coaxial rotations of a disk and a fluid at infinity and the influence of a partial slip on flows of a second grade fluid in Porous Medium.
