'We need to groom our young generation for the bright future by exploring their creative abilities so that they could learn to carry their responsibilities to make the nation prosperous.' This was stated by Begum Shehnaz Wazir Ali, Advisor to Prime Minister. She was addressing a large gathering on the closing ceremony of two-week summer camp held at NUST Headquarters.
The summer camp on "Robotics for Youth" was organised by NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SEECS). Begum Shehnaz Wazir Ali impressed upon the need to establish higher quality schools throughout the country. She also advised to include the syllabi of climate education at university level because the climate changes in the world are becoming threat for shortage of food, water and human life.
Engr Muhammad Asghar, Rector NUST addressing on the occasion said that only those nations could advance who struggle day and night and create wonders. He urged to know the instinct of children so that when the join professional college or university they choose their favourite disciplines of study and they should be able to select they field according to their aptitude and capacity. Rector expressed that the first five years of children's life are very important.
They live with their parents and parents play pivotal role in their personality building. After that teachers and other members of the society effect their attitudes so they join universities with pre-conceived ideas/notions.
At this stage university can do nothing for development of their personality. That's why we need to reach the school going children for their better growth. We have a dream to prepare best brains of our nation in research oriented environment and grow them in science, technology and social sciences fields.
He desired to establish a smart school and a science museum at NUST new campus sector H-12 Islamabad for which he asked the government for help. He hoped that smart school would produce best engineers, doctors and teachers for practical life. Pro-Rector Engr M Mushtaq, high ranking officials and DG SEECS, faculty members, participants and their parents were also present on the occasion.-PR
