National Highways and Motorway Police has invited two UK Yorkshire police trainers to provide training to the officers of National Highways and Motorway Police for two weeks. These two trainers from UK Yorkshire Police including Chief Inspector Peter Sehartlic and Seargent Kavien Harper arrived on Monday.
They visited the NH and MP Headquarters at Islamabad and held a detailed meeting with the Inspector General, National Highways and Motorway Police Muhammad Raffat Pasha. The They were briefed by the DIG(HQ) NH and MP about the working environment.
The British trainers also briefed the IG NH and MP and his team about their training plan. Initially, these British police trainers will observe the on-ground working ecology of the Motorway Police on Motorways and on National Highways and then they will train 35 Master Trainers of Motorway Police including 30 male and 5 female Trainees.
The British Trainers will train the officers on modern lines of accident handling, emergency interventions on Motorways and on Highways, safe entry and exit of vehicles through Toll Plazas while blockage of traffic, transporting hazardous goods, managing to stop high speed vehicles, to handle the traffic jams, intervention techniques through motorbikes and through other vehicles.
The British Police Trainers will also provide special training in accident investigations and its remedial measures. The officers of Motorway Police will also visit the UK for further training. In the end of training session, the British Trainers will present their report to the IG (NH and MP).-PR
