The Anti-Terrorist Court has sent the suspects of Hamza Camp and R A Bazar bomb explosions to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand after it accepted the prosecution plea to hold an identification parade of the suspects.
SHO R A Bazar Police Suhail Usmani and SHO New Town Asghar Gurraya presented Umar Adeel suspect of R A Bazar blast, Shafiqur Rehman, Mazharul Haq, Niaz Ahmed, Syed Abdul Majid, Syed Abdul Basit, Syed Abdul Saboor suspects of Hamza Camp blast in the court.
The judge of the Anti-Terrorist Court 2 Sakhi Muhammad Kahut resumed the hearing and the prosecution pleaded that the suspects should be handed over to police for identification parade. The learned judge accepted the prosecution plea and sent the suspects to Adiala Jail for 14-day judicial remand the adjourned the hearing till next date.
The Rawalpindi police have filed cases against the suspects under sections 120 b, 780 a and 4 and 5 of the Explosive Act. The suspects were brought in the court under very tight security in armoured vehicles while court premises were cordoned off by police and other law enforcement agencies' personnel. No one even journalists were allowed to go near the suspects whose heads were covered with black masks.
It is pertinent to note that more than 10 people including 8 security officials have been killed and 40 other injured in February 4, suicide attack, in which a suicide bomber struck his explosive laden motorcycle with a coaster of the Army Medical Corps.
More than 35 people have been killed and above 50 injured when a suicide bomber struck his explosive laden car with a 72-seater bus of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) at the gate of Hamza Camp on November 24 last year.
