More than 15,000 "Mustehkeen" were not paid Zakat for the last six months on which they held protest demonstration in front of the office of District Zakat and Ushr Committee here. The hundreds of the affectees also staged sit in there to mark protest in this regard.
District Zakat and Ushr Committee's Chairman Chaudhry Mubarik Ali talking to journalists here said that soon after the government's permission the "Mustehkeen" would be paid their pending amounts of Zakat. The demonstrators threatened to launch hunger strike outside the CM house if they were not paid Zakat immediately.
