The Namaz-e-Janaza of Head Police Constable, Shabbir Hussain killed in an encounter with a hardened criminal in Shahdara area on July, 1 was held at the Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh on Wednesday.
The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore, DIG Investigation, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhaira, SSP Operations Shafique Ahmad, SSP Investigation, Zulifqar Hameed and a large number of senior police officers attended the funeral.
Addressing the gathering, the CCPO said that late Shabbir Hussain had set a noble example of courage and commitment to his profession by laying down his life in the line of the duty.
He said that the Head Constable was very fortunate as he embraced martyrdom that every person wearing the noble uniform cherishes. Further, the CCPO warned the criminals not to play with the lives of innocent people ordered stringent action against them. Later, he announced Rs 5 lakh on behalf of Punjab Government and Rs 1 lakh on behalf of Lahore Police as financial assistance for the family of the late head Constable.
