The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) and Institute of Telecommunication Engineers (Instep) will hold a three-day OIC Telecom and IT Conference and Expo from July 22 to 24 in Lahore, said LCCI spokesman.
Experts will speak on the issues confronted by the IT and Telecom sectors in Pakistan and the OIC region. The conference will focus on Telecom Tariff issues among the OIC countries, deregulation in telecom sector, challenges of privatisation of the telecom sector, growth of SMEs in Telecom and IT areas and role of IT and Telecom in media development.
The LCCI sources also said that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Board of Investment are collaborating with the LCCI for holding this event. Companies from Bangladesh and Iran are likely to participate in this moot and expo apart from a sizeable number of foreign delegates. The Ptcl, Warid Telecom, AZM computers, Gilani Software and Comsats are among the major companies, expected to participate in the exhibition.
