A four-year old girl was killed and 10 others including police officials sustained critical injuries after a powerful bomb exploded at Manan Chowk here on Friday, police said. The bomb was planted in a motorbike, parked at Manan Chowk; the main commercial center and junction of Jinnah Road and Kandahari Bazaar.
Those who sustained injuries include traffic police sub-inspector Afzal, constables Amjad, Tariq and Fateh Khan. The identity of the girl who lost life in the blast could not be ascertained. Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Akbar Arain, DIG Qazi Wahid and other senior officials arrived on the spot soon after the incident.
