Invariably the dacoits have complete sway over the public and the police in most cases remains a mute spectator to such crimes, right from their operation, till after they have completed these.
The helpless public, in utter frustration and disgust, ultimately took on themselves the responsibility to deal with this repeated and obnoxious and hopeless situation, by catching the dacoits red handed and then killing and burning them.
The police who could not protect the public, got annoyed with the killers, for such ruthless elimination of the dacoits. It surely suits the police if crime persists, because it provides urgency to the requirement of the police, apart from certain other reasons which we all understand.
We all understand the sympathy the I.G. Sindh police has for the burnt dacoits from the legal and human points of view. I only hope that in future there will be much fewer dacoits to be burnt. I would however request the I.G. Sindh police to be equally concerned when dacoits kill the inmates, while looting them, or killing the peaceful citizens, while snatching their vehicles.
