Awami Muslim League (AWL) President Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Tuesday that financial crisis in the country were deepening and the situation might aggravate in times to come. Talking to newsmen at his party's provincial office here, Sheikh Rashid said that four billion dollars were transferred abroad.
While the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had left with reserves of one billion dollars. He added that performance of the Pakistan Peoples Party-led coalition government in the first 100 days was not "good", as it failed to deliver anything for the betterment of the people. He strongly condemned the Karachi blasts, which are aimed at sabotaging peace of the city and the entire country.
He ruled out any possibility of involvement of al Qaeda in Karachi blasts. However, he said that some foreign agents might be involved in such acts, which were aimed at sabotaging the peaceful atmosphere apart from giving wrong message to the outside world.
Sheikh Rashid said on one side the government was talking about supremacy of the parliament, while on the other hand, important decisions were being taken while sitting in London and Dubai. He added that at present over 200 MNAs were abroad. Answering a question, he said that situations in the country were "different" before arrival and after departure of Richard Boucher from the country.
He further said that his party was ready to cooperate with all the political parties, including All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) in the larger national interests. To another question, Sheikh Rashid said that political parties and President agreed to 29 points of proposed constitutional amendment package. "There is also room for the PML-N in the proposed constitutional package", he added.
