Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade were lower early on Tuesday on spillover weakness as the corn and soybean markets continued to plunge, traders said. Seasonal wheat harvest pressure and a drop in the crude oil and gold markets added pressure.
As of 9:45 am CDT (1445 GMT), CBOT most-active September wheat was down 15 cents at $8.21 per bushel. Kansas City Board of Trade September was down 12-1/2 cents at $8.47-1/2 and Minneapolis Grain Exchange September spring wheat was down 12-3/4 cents at $8.72.
