The Indian foreign ministry has denied remarks attributed to its foreign secretary, Shivshankar Menon, that Haqqani network was behind the July 7 bomb blast at the Indian embassy in Kabul. A ministry spokesman said the news channel 'Times Now' report making the attribution was 'false and professionally dishonest.'
Moreover, he said Menon did not speculate about the identity of perpetrators of the embassy attack. The spokesman said the foreign secretary in fact clearly refused to speculate about the identity of the perpetrators when he was asked this question.
