The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Monday announced the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examination 2008 with a pass percentage of 69.40. According to the board's notification, a total of 57,171 candidates appeared in the examination, held in April/May, out of which 39,624 cleared all the subjects.
It says 17,547 were declared failed in the examination. As many as 18 unfair-means have been registered against the students. The pass percentage among the girls was 89.26, and among boys, it was 79.83. As many as 13,676 girl candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 12,186 were declared successful. On the other hand, 19,505 boys appeared in the examination, out of which 15,536 passed.
Out of the total (6,678) candidates, 6,645 took examination in humanities group, 4,691 were declared successful and 1954 failed. Some 177,345 private candidates appeared in the examination, out of which 7,211 students were declared successful and 10,122 failed, the result remained 41.61 percent.
Mohammed Athar Azeem Roll Number 704715 of the science group of the F.G. Boys Model School got first position obtaining 806 marks, Ahmad Mubashir Roll Number 710989 got second position with 799 marks, and Fatima Syed Roll Number 737866 also got 799 marks while Majid Mushtaq Roll Number 701120 got third position getting 798 marks.
Nida Amjad Roll Number 784669 of the humanties group obtained 715 marks, Hafiz Muhammed Saadullah Roll Number 750074 got 707 marks, and Hafiz Samiullah Daud Roll Number 750063 got 705 marks, and S. Hina Hussain Roll Number 781810 also got 705 marks. They got first second and third position, respectively.
All candidates whose result has been withheld for want of fee/eligibility are advised in their own interest to meet these discrepancies immediately to enable this office to declare their results. The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Supplementary Examination, 2008 of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad would start from September 16, 2008.
