Industrialists and textile exporters from Faisalabad ended their strike after meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in Lahore on Tuesday while second round of talks between industrialists and the government would be held on July 17 at Islamabad to finalise the relief package for Textile Industry.
Meanwhile, the fifty percent industrial units including hosiery, powerlooms & sizing units, textile printing and processing mills and other ancillaries have started functioning after four days' strike on the assurance of the government that their genuine problems would be solved without any loss of time.
Addressing a press conference at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the members of Action Committee of Industrialists and Textile Exporters stated that the business community leaders called on the Prime Minister at Punjab Governor's House and apprised him of their apprehensions and problems in view of recent hike in gas and electricity rates.
