There is an urgent need for tapping the potential of alternative energy in Pakistan particularly and South Asia region in general because of acute shortage of energy crisis.
This was sated by Tariq Saeed, President Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Saarc CCI) in his meeting with Arif Alauddin, the newly appointed CEO, Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) in Islamabad.
During the meeting Sayeed discussed prospects of promoting alternative energy in Pakistan and the south Asia region and said that alternative energy was the only answer to overcome the shortage of energy, which was ever increasing in wake of growing industrial and commercial activities.
He also identified several problems faced by the investors in these areas and requested the CE, AEDB to allot the required land for installation of wind turbines preferably to those companies in Pakistan, which have entered into MoU with international companies.
Tariq Sayeed invited CEO, AEDB to visit FPCCI and address the business community of the country, including representatives of companies, which have been given letter of intent by the government. -PR
