Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman has said that no one can attack on sovereignty or writ of Pakistan nor it would allow anyone to do so. Talking to BBC Radio, she reiterated firm stand of the government of Pakistan that no foreign force could take action on Pakistani soil as it was fully capable of taking action, if needed.
She was commenting on the recent statements of Afghan President Hamid Karzai with regard to incidents of terrorism in Afghanistan. "Such statements will increase tension in the region," she said adding that Pakistan could never be involved in any terrorist activity as it was engaged in fighting terrorism.
Sherry Rehman underlined the need to restore peace in the region and stressed "We all should demonstrate political maturity to resolve the issues," which otherwise could create tension in the region.
