President of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Imran Khan, has said that US-brokered deal between Musharraf and Zardari basically reversed the mandate of the people. In an interview with the BBC he said that people of Pakistan wanted the judges back, who were unconstitutionally removed by Musharraf on November 3, 2007, moreover, Imran said that people of Pakistan endorsed Musharraf to quit the office in subsequent general elections.
Criticising the deal between Musharraf and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari he said that as a result of the deal Musharraf succeeded in gaining support by PPP, while Asif Zardari was given amnesty for all corruption cases worth billion of dollars, which is tantamount to a reversal of people's mandate. Moreover, he said people were expecting something good from the February 18 elections and very much hopeful about the reinstatement of deposed judges, but the expectations of the people have not been materialised yet.
Furthermore, he said that there is temporary glitch in this revolution, but eventually Asif Zardari himself will be swept away if he does not respect the wishes of people and follow the principles of his own party.
