CIA Police Iqbal Town division have busted a gang of criminals involved in street crimes, arrested five members and seized looted property and weapons from them. The accused confessed to 19 crimes following an investigation. The crackdown came after Investigation DIG Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhaira ordered SP CIA Muhammad Umar Virk to curb crime and set up a special team to deal with the infamous Nadeem alias Deema gang.
The criminals carried out robberies from passers-by. They are facing up to 24 cases in various police stations. The police also recovered 10 mobile phones, four pistols and ammo. The police identified the gang members as ringleader Nadeem Shahzad alias Deema, Ali Raza, Muhammad Afra, Syed Waqas Hussain and Zeeshan alias Shani.
