The University of Sindh has decided to develop more plantation sites for promotion of greenery to create beautiful environment at the campus with lawns, varieties of tress and flowers in front of the newly constructed buildings at the campus.
In this connection, a meeting of the plantation section of the University was held on Friday to discuss problems about plantation and further efforts required for greenery with management of available water. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chancellor Dr Mazharul Haq Siddiqui and Registrar Muhammad Saleh Rajar, Professor Incharge Plantation Dr Imdaduallah Brohi and other concerned officials attended.
Dr Imdaduallah informed the meeting that with key efforts, plantation section has been maintaining different plantation sites and lawns already developed in front of various teaching institutions and departments and at different points at the campus.
It was decided to develop more plantation sites at the newly constructed institutes and departments and in boys and girls hostels. The meeting also discussed need of the material for the water lines for new plantation sites. The Vice Chancellor stressed the need of management of available water and said that it was most essential to utilise available water with excellent management. The meeting also chalked out a schedule for management of the water for the plantation sites.
