the Chief Minister North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Ameer Haider Hoti has categorically declared on Friday that his government would not resign on someone's advice or desire and turned a deaf ear to Baitullah Mehsud's ultimatum giving five day deadline to the NWFP Government to quit.
Talking to local journalists, he said that the provincial government had sent the army to Hangu as precautionary measure to avoid any untoward situation in the area and not to target a particular group.
The law-breakers are openly challenging the writ of the government in Hangu and the government could not tolerate this anymore, he maintained. In view of the deteriorating law and order situation and unpleasant incidents, the NWFP government decided to deploy army in Hangu, said Hoti.
It is worth mentioning that the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan on Thursday threatened the Awami National Party (ANP) led coalition government to wrap-up in NWFP in five days or get ready for the deadly consequences. The threatening has left ANP to decide from two options, either to quit in five days or get ready to face the adverse, Taliban spokesman, Maulvi Umer told reporters from an undisclosed location on the other-day.
