Executive Director of Federal Government Services Hospital (Polyclinic) Syed Masood Ahmad Pasha said it has been noticed that specialist medicines are being prescribed by simple medical officers, which is not a good practice.
In a statement here on Sunday he said that similarly the house officers are signing chits without authority and chronic patients are being prescribed drugs for more than 15 days and even the patients are not being re-examined.
The Executive Director of the hospital, while streamline the process, said that medical stores will ensure circulation of updated lists of available medicines during first week of every month, clearly marking general and specialist medicines. Similarly, he said no junior doctor will prescribe any specialist medicine without countersignature of the concerned specialist.
