A high-level committee of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has agreed to award the contract for construction of Zero-Point interchange to M/s Maqbool Associates. After the final approval, the firm will start work on the project within 15 days.
Meeting of the committee was held here on Tuesday in the CDA Headquarters, which was attended by Moeen ud Din Kakakhel, Member Engineering; Kamran Ali Qureshi, Member Finance; Raja Nowsheiwan, Member Planning & Design; Abdul Jabbar Molano, Director General Works, Project Director and Director Q.S.
A high level committee constituted by Chairman CDA Kamran Lashari to inspect the projects of similar nature executed by M/S Maqbool Associates visited the sites, inspected the projects and finally submitted its report. The committee principally agreed to award the contract.
It is pertinent to mention here that five firms qualified for the construction of Zero-Point Interchange out of which M/S Maqbool Associates appeared being lowest bidder with quoted premium of 77 per cent and 48 per cent above on NHA CSR 2006 and non-schedule items respectively.
The committee keeping in view the financial and technical aspects principally recommended the acceptance of the lowest rebated bid which was voluntarily reduced by M/S Maqbool Associates for both schedule and non-schedule items as 72 per cent and 43 per cent respectively, which will save roundabout Rs 20 million of the Authority.
Kamran Lashari urged the authority concerned to make site management and set-up excellent and implement safety and environmental norms as per national and international standard. The project must be completed within the given time. Minimum time for mobilisation should be ensured. smooth flow of traffic must be ensured, he added.
