FDA, Wasa officials visit rain-affected areas

Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Raja Safdar Hussain and Wasa Managing Director (MD) Dr Arshad Mahmood visited low-laying city areas to have first hand information immediately after the rain. They particularly checked the performance of disposal stations, complaint centres and channels and expressed satisfaction over their performance.
They also directed to pump out standing water from some low laying areas in addition to restoring electricity supply to a disposal station, which was causing problems in the area. They directed the concerned staff to maintain proper record of complaints till their redressal.
Meanwhile, desilting of Syed Abad channel started here the other night. In this connection, the slabs covering channel were also removed while dampers are being used to remove the silt exhumed from the channel.
