Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations, Munir Akram, on Wednesday described as an "exaggeration" a media report claiming that UN investigation into the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto would cost over $100 million.
"That is an exaggeration. It (the cost) will be only a fraction of that amount," Ambassador Akram said when asked for comments. As regards the timeframe for the probe, he said it would depend on the independent commission, which Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was in the process of constituting in response to the Pakistan government request.
