The caravan of the Deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry arrived in Bahawalpur on late Saturday night, Aaj TV reported. According to the channel, the caravan of the deposed chief justice of Pakistan was warmly welcomed by the lawyers' fraternity and the political workers of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz.
Speaking to the lawyers and political workers supreme court bar association President Aitzaz Ahsan said that such a warm welcome of the deposed CJ at remote areas of the country is an eye opener for those who thinks that lawyers movement has frizzled out.
He said that no judge will take oath without deposed chief justice of Pakistan but if someone do this he will be considered judge of the PCO. Barrister Aitzaz said that Qayyum virus is trying to effect the deposed judges but he believes that no deposed justice will not be effected by this virus.
Earlier, deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry left Multan high court bar at 12 noon here on Saturday in the form of a big convoy to start from Multan to Bahawalpur via Shujabad, Jalalpur Pirwala and Lodhran. Hundreds of lawyers, activists of political parties including PML-N, Jamaat-i-Islami and Tehreek Insaaf on dozens of vehicles accompanied the rally.
Iftikhar Chaudhry offered a common prayer at high court bar and then started their journey. President High Court Bar Multan, Mehmood Ashraf drove the vehicle of deposed chief justice. The first destination of the convoy was Shujabad. PML-N senior vice president, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi led the convoy along with the other leaders of PML-N, Jamaat-i-Islami and Tehreek Insaaf.
