Australia to face England in do or die contest

Australia are all set to face England in a must win game in order to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Champion
Published June 10, 2017

Australia are all set to face England in a must win game in order to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy.

The Aussies, who are yet to register their first victory in the competition, had an unfortunate start in this year’s ICC event.

They almost lost the match against New Zealand, who are eliminated, but rain interruption gave them the crucial point. However, they had the game won against Bangladesh, but again rain against caused the match abandon when they were in commanding position chasing modest 183 runs total. That too earned them a point.

The host England, who are already through to the knockouts defeating both Bangal Tigers and the Kiwis, will be eyeing to eliminate their arch rival Australia early from the event.

Bangladesh, whose future of ICC champions trophy lies on this game, have eliminated New Zealand from the tournament and currently secured second spot after England and above Australia.

The group position will remain the same if, rain interpreted. Then England and Bangladesh will qualify for the knock outs of the tournament. However, if Australia win today’s game, then they will go thought to the semis with the hosts of the tournament.
