The overflowing flood water from Kachhi Canal has inundated dozens of villages in district Rajanpur. The Chinese engineers working on the Kachi Canal project are being evacuated from the affected areas through helicopters.
District Administration Rajanpur has started the relief operation to rescue and shift the affected people to safe places. Over 160 villages were affected by the flood, which compelled more than 6000 people to leave their homes for safer places.
The flood also inundated the standing crops. Relief camps have been established at seven different places by the district administration, where food and other assistance are being provided to affected people. The breach in Dajal Canal has been bridged and the supply from Taunsa Sharif to Canal has also been halted. The flood is now heading towards Hajipur and Fazilpur.
