Leader of the opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced that PML-Q would file reference for disqualification of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that his party would also table adjournment motions and call attention notices in National Assembly regarding the four-months' performance of the present government in office. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, he said due to incompetence of current chief minister of Punjab, flour crisis in the province has worsened.
He said due to his inapt attitude towards officials, the bureaucracy is not co-operating with him, which is making the common people to suffer. Pervaiz Elahi said that as compare to his "record" performance in office, the current provincial government during its first four months failed to execute a single substantial development project.
The former Chief Minister of Punjab while dilating regarding the 100 days performance and its relations with India and China osaid the opposition would also table an Adjournment Motion in the National Assembly in this regard.
Terming visit of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to the United States as failed he said there had been no development with regard to Kashmir dispute, nuclear technology assistance and trade relations with US during the visit. The former CM of Punjab said that in order to organise their party at district level, worker conventions would be organised in Rawalpindi, Bhawalpur, Gujrat, Faisalabad and Multan before Ramzan.
APP adds: Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi alleged that Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani's visit to the United States could not deliver objectives set by the government.
Pervaiz Elahi said that issues like Kashmir, Pak-US trade, nuclear deal of US with India and other matters of key importance should have been discussed during the visit.
The leader of the opposition was of the view that the government has not shown results on internal and external fronts. They have got the mandate and it is their responsibility to fulfil their promises, he added. He said PML-Q regret for giving vote of confidence to the Prime Minister.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the government is talking about the supremacy of parliament, but making decisions out of the august house. "One of their favourite things is to blame the previous government for all the ills just to cover their weaknesses," he said. They are ignoring the raise in the prices of almost all things within few months, he said.
