Asfar Din Talpur, Director-General, Planning and Development, Port Authority, took over as Chairman, Port Qasim Authority, on Friday, according to a government notification. This is the first time in the history of Port Qasim that a regular employee has been appointed as Chairman.
During his tenure of 33 years at the port, Talpur acquired diverse acumen for pragmatic planning and dynamic management. He is a Fellow Member of Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK. For his resolve to transform Port Qasim into an intensifying hub of shipping and industry, the appointment has been lauded by the ports and shipping sector, industrialists and prominent personalities.-PR
