Bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Canada needs to be expanded further in view of the cordial relations existing between the two countries. The Trade Commissioner of Canada, Marilyn Denton stated this in a meeting with the former FPCCI President, SM Munir.
She emphasized the need of intensive interaction between the business community of the two countries that will contribute towards exploring new avenues for promotion of bilateral trade and joint ventures.
Expressing her concern on the low volume of bilateral trade which is on the down trends, she suggested Pakistan and Canada Business Council of the FPCCI should play a vital role in restring the confidence of the leading Canadian investors who are a bit scared of investing in Pakistan.
Further, the Trade Commissioner said that investment mission from Canada is expected to visit Pakistan this year to explore the possibilities of investment. SM Munir said Pakistan is a potential market for the Canadian investors where they could easily invest into the field of energy, construction, education, and food processing and dairy sector.-PR
