Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) will complete 13 projects with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank and Rs 1,100 million has been earmarked for electricity transmission lines and upgrading the grid stations to overcome the load shedding during 2008-09.
Talking to newsmen after attending a detailed briefing at Fesco headquarter about forthcoming project activities, Ahmad Saeed Akhtar, Chief Executive, Fesco said that 132-KVA Old Thermal Grid Stations situated on Chiniot Road, Samundri Road, Narwala Road, Factory area and Agriculture University would be upgraded and 40-MVA transformers would be installed in each grid station.
He assured that Fesco would achieve the targets of 2008-09 and to improve distribution system for facilitating their consumers. Earlier, Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf Manager GSC Fesco, stated that in last year 2007-08, they increased capacity of eight grid stations, constructed of a new grid station and laying out new electricity transmission lines at the total cost of Rs 645 million.
He mentioned that during the last year, 120-MVAR Capacitors were installed at 132-KV Chiniot Industrial Grid, Khurrianwala, Mureedwala, Bhakkar and Jhang City Grids. Furthermore, 60-MVAR Capacitors of 11-KV were installed on different eight Grid Stations with the total cost of Rs 200 million.
