Barron becomes "First Boy" to move into White House since JFK Jr.

After five months of living at Trump Tower in New York since inauguration, the 11-year-old Barron just moved into the White House over the weekend with his mom, first lady Melania Trump.

The rising sixth grader had been staying in New York with his mother so he could finish out the school year.

Barron is the first boy to live in the White House in more than half a century. The last first son was John F. Kennedy Jr., who lived at the White House until his father's 1963 assassination just three days before his third birthday.

He will begin sixth grade this fall at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, located just outside of Washington in Potomac, Maryland.

Like most of the other first children before him, Barron will be attending a private school. The choice keeps in tradition with other presidents in modern history except President Jimmy Carter who sent his child to a public school.

The Obamas sent their daughters to Sidwell Friends, an elite Quaker school where Chelsea Clinton also attended.

Another aspect that makes this move interesting is that Melania is also the first presidential spouse in recent years not to relocate to the capital immediately.

Her predecessor, Michelle Obama, even moved to Washington early to get her daughters settled in their new school.

However, it seems the First Lady is delighted by the move, tweeting a picture looking out across the White House lawn, marking the occasion.
