Recovery of Abiana and agricultural income tax and property and land transaction remained suspended across Punjab for nearly a week due to continuos strike of Patwaris causing huge revenue loss to the government.
The Anjuman -e-Patwarian (revenue and consolidation) has formed a committee to stage protest rallies called strike at district level on Monday against the provincial government for not fulfilling their demands. Spokesman of the Anjuman said that a delegation of the Patwaris had held a meeting with the Secretary Revenue on Saturday to get information on the status of summary that was to be sent to the Chief Minister regarding fulfilment of their demands.
The Secretary told the delegation that the senior members of BoR had gone to Rajanpur because of the flood situation there and assured them he will inform development in their case after the members return. Further, the statement said that the BoR members had assured the Partwaris that the summary would be sent to the CM within two days but still there was no progress. Earlier, the Patwaris had given 72-hour ultimatum to the Provincial Government for fulfilling their demands.
