Law Minister Farooq H Naek has said the process of preparing the charge sheet against the President is in progress and it would soon be completed. Talking to newsmen here Sunday, he said a lot of work has been accomplished in this regard.
He said while preparing the charge-sheet, they have looked into all the points and angles, legality and constitutionality. To a question, the Law Minister expressed the hope that President Pervez Musharraf would resign instead of invoking article 58(2)B of the constitution. He said the President should tender his resignation to the Speaker National Assembly because right now the nation and political parties are demanding it and for bringing the democracy in the real sense, and for the integrity of the country and rule of law.
To another question, he said a very strong charge sheet is being prepared against the President for impeachment.
He said they do not want that the nation should go through impeachment process but if President Pervez Musharraf would not resign, definitely the process of impeachment would start.
