South Korea's Yun Ok-hee said on Tuesday after matching an Olympic record in the women's individual archery that she was solely focused on winning gold for her cancer-stricken coach. "I really want to get a gold medal. I want to show him how much I appreciate him," the world number one said of her coach Moon Hyung-chul who has thyroid cancer but has put off further treatment until after the Beijing Games.
"When I heard the news in December I was really worried about him," said Yun, who matched the Olympic record of 114 points in the event and advanced to the last 16 along with fellow South Koreans Park Sung-hyun and Joo Hyun-jung. World champion Natalia Valeeva's fifth Olympics ended in disappointment after the Italian was beaten in the second round by newcomer Joo.
