Malaysian share prices closed 0.6 percent lower on Wednesday as selling by foreign funds hit plantation stocks, finance shares and blue chips, dealers said. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index fell 6.25 points to close at 1,112.53 and decliners outnumbered advancers 322 to 204.
"Foreign funds were net sellers again on Wednesday," one dealer told Dow Jones Newswires. Among the decliners, AMMB was down 2.5 percent at 3.14 ringgit, Asiatic fell 1.7 percent to 5.80 ringgit and Genting slipped 2.7 percent to 5.70 ringgit. Power firm Tenaga rose 1.2 percent to 8.45 ringgit, IJM Corp gained 1.8 percent to 5.55 ringgit and Maybank was 0.7 percent stronger at 7.70 ringgit.
