President Pervez Musharraf will have to prove his innocence in the court to pave the way for safe exit from the country, asserted central leader of Muslim League (N) Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here on Friday.
"Draft of the impeachment will be finalised on Saturday," he said, adding that he and other members of PML-N would not join the Federal cabinet till the restoration of deposed judges to their November 2, 2007 position. Chaudhry Nisar said that the fate of the President be decided by the court of law, though some circles, to avoid chaos, were convincing the President to opt for resignation. However, the PML-N was not in favour of this move, he added.
A number of PML-Q members wanted to join PML-N or Pakistan People's Party (PPP). He clarified those, who stabbed the PML-N in the back, would not be part of Nawaz League again. Meanwhile, PML(N) Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal said here that the party had unanimously taken the stand not to join the Federal cabinet till the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf, though the PPP had urged the Nawaz League to re-join the cabinet.
On the coalition decision to move impeachment resolution against President Pervez Musharraf, the PML (N), in its executive committee meeting, has okayed partial cabinet rejoining of four ministers - Ahsan Iqbal, Tanveer Hussain, Khwaja Saad Rafique and Sardar Mehtab Abbasi - but they had not assumed the charge so far. The ministers did not attend recently held cabinet meeting, as they were not formally invited by the concerned quarters, sources added.
On the other hand, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has formally requested its main coalition partner, the PML-N, to send all the ministers who left, to rejoin the cabinet, but their resignations were not accepted by the government, sources concluded.
