"Pervez Musharraf is being made a symbol of remorse through the political process, as in Parliament he will not be able to obtain sufficient votes except for the meagre support of the Q-League" said a Provincial Minister. Muhammad Khan Sohna, Punjab Minister for Labour & Man-Power.
While talking to industrial labourers here on Friday felt that the time had come to choke dictatorship, he added that a prosperous epoch would be ushered in with the advent of democracy in the country. Sohna warned that strict action would be taken against those usurping the rights of labourers, claiming that now the rights of every member of society would be guarded.
He said the Punjab government had taken revolutionary measures to tackle the problems faces by labour families. The minister said that in this regard, Marriage Grants for the wedding of daughters of labourers and Death Grants for widows of labourers were being released. The minister distributed Rs 2,600,000 amongst widows of labourers who died on the job, with each receiving Rs 300,000. Rs 3,650,000 were also given in Marriage Grant.
