Currency speculators boosted their bets on the US dollar for a third week, according to the latest weekly data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Friday. The dollar's net long position jumped to $11.59 billion in the week to August 12, from $7.89 billion the previous week.
The aggregate US dollar position is derived from the net positions of International Monetary Market speculators in the yen, euro, British pound, Swiss franc, Canadian and Australian dollars.
