Buoyed by the massive public response to its Pampore Chalo call, the Co-ordination Committee led by All Parties Hurriyat Conference, traders, Bar Association and fruit growers has urged people to join the Monday's march to United Nations office in Sonwar here and continue the peaceful protests against the killing of the unarmed civilians by police and CRPF.
"We urge people to join Monday's march to United Nations military observers' office in Sonwar where we will submit a memorandum," senior Hurriyat leader and Co-ordination Committee member Masrat Aalam told reporters after coming back from Pampore.
"We have to show to the world that promises India had made with Kashmiri people have not been fulfilled. We want the resolution of Kashmir issue as per the UN resolutions and the right of self determination," Aalam said.
He urged all old and young people from every locality, tehsil and district to join the march. "Doctors, lawyers, professors and students should also march in their professional attires," he said. Asking people to continue the peaceful protests, Aalam said, violence should be avoided. "We urge people to continue peaceful protests against the economic blockade, use of brute force and killing of unarmed civilians by the police and CRPF. We should avoid violence during protests and not give police and CRPF a chance to open fire," he said.
He asked people to join the congregational prayers on Sunday on the occasion of Shabe-Baraat. "On this day, people should remember all the martyrs especially those who have sacrificed their lives in the past one week."
