The leaders, National Transport Ittehad (NTI), Saleem Khan Bangash, Raja Muhammad Rafiq and Ashraf Banglori have criticised Ogra for not reducing oil prices despite decline the rates in international oil market.
In a joint statement on Sunday, the leaders said that the prices of oil in the international market had reduced to $113 from $147 per barrel, but Ogra yet not reducing the fuel prices though, declining the rates in international oil market. "The members of Ogra body seem the agents of multinational companies, that is why they do not realise the grievances of common men," they remarked.
They denounced the continuous and phenomenal increase in fuel prices had badly affected the people, as the prices of essential commodities were directly proportioned to the oil prices.
The leaders observed if the government had decreased the oil prices like India, transport community would also slash the fares. They demanded of the federal government to immediately intervene the issue and reduce the fuel prices by Rs20 per litre.
