A person was tested HIV positive in Nishtar Medical College, hospital sources said. The patient, Jafar Hussain (40) of Chak No 5- Faiz (Multan) was found positive in HIV test, confirmed the Principal of the college, Professor Dr Laiq Hussain Siddiqui.
He said, 'we are contacting Hussain's wife and children and other family members for their medical examination and HIV tests.' He also said that the patient was brought to hospital in an unconscious state due to high temperature. However, he was found HIV positive and shifted to another room of Ward No 12 to keep him in isolation. The history of the patient showed that Hussain has a wife and six children and was suffering from fever for the last five months. The doctor was unable to ascertain the cause of the disease.
