Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is concerned over the delay in judges' issue despite resignation of Pervez Musharraf, but it is optimistic that judges will definitely be restored as on November 3, 2007 position. Sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the PML-N leadership has its firm stance on the issue of reinstatement of the deposed judges.
The sources added, while quoting the PML-N top leader as having said that PML-N had a written agreement with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and now after departure of Pervez Musharraf, there is no point to restore them. The PML-N, Chief, Nawaz Sharif, on Wednesday at his Raiwind residence held informal consultations with his close aides on the judges issue, the sources claimed, adding that Nawaz also kept in touch with the party leaders who met Maulana Fazl ur Rehman and Asfandyar Wali at Islamabad. Nawaz also conveyed some directions to his party men holding a meeting with the members of reconciliation committee.
Analysts say differences within coalition partners over judges' issue raise many questions. They were of the view that political leaders should show maturity and take decisions wisely to overcome crisis being faced by the country as well as nation.
Central Finance Secretary, PML-N, Muhammad Pervaiz Malik said the longstanding issue of judges' restoration must be resolved as the main hurdle stand removed with resignation of the Pervez Musharraf. He said that political workers, lawyers, labourers, media men and members of civil society deserve credit for their valiant struggle for removing the main hurdle in the way of sustaining real democracy in the country.
