Political parties asked to submit accounts statements

The political parties have been reminded to submit their statements of accounts for the financial year 2007-08 on or before August 29, next, said a release of Provincial Election Commissioner on Wednesday.
It said that the statements of account must contain certificates signed by the party leader stating that the party received no funds from any source prohibited under the Political Parties Order 2002 besides containing an accurate financial position of the party.
Moreover, it added that prescribed printed forms were available free of cost in the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and in the offices of the Provincial Election Commissioner, Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan.
