Speaker Provincial Assembly of the Punjab Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan here on Friday launched the new 'updated web-site of the Assembly. The web-site www.pap.gov.pk provides a full array of information in English and Urdu language about the Assembly, its history in brief, members, bills, acts, business of the Assembly, past assemblies, and resolutions.
It also gives information about the functions of 'the Standing Committees and their activities, reports, news releases, news clippings and photographs. Additionally, the web-site provides an e-mail portal, allowing citizens to directly query the Assembly, encouraging more public input into its deliberations.
The web-site also offers a virtual tour of the Assembly building. Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan on the occasion said the creation of this web-site would help bring the work of the Assembly closer to the people.
"The easily navigable web-site will enable people to have a better understanding of the work we do and the importance of being fully informed and provide feedback to their representatives," the Speaker said. "It will be constantly updated by the Assembly to provide our constituents with an up-to-data picture of the Assembly business," he pointed.
