Bulgarian Football Union referees' commission chairman Borislav Alexandrov has been temporarily suspended after allegations of match-fixing, the BFU said on Friday. "I decided temporarily to "freeze" Alexandrov and I expect (referee Hristo) Ristoskov to present his evidence in 15-20 days," BFU President Borislav Mihaylov told reporters after meeting the two men.
"It would have been better if he (Ristoskov) had presented it now but there's an accusation after all and Alexandrov will be removed from his post for the time being." He said Alexandrov would be replaced by assistant Ichko Lozev.
Ristoskov had complained about Alexandrov in a letter, published in the local media, sent to Mihaylov last week. Momchil Vraykov, who was given a life ban last year, told Bulgarian Kanal 3 on Thursday that he had been told to "help" Beroe Stara Zagora in a league match against high-flying Litex Lovech in 2006.
