Prices showed rising trend on the grain market on Saturday in process of slow trading, dealers said. On the seed side, cotton seed oilcake Punjab old with bag low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 700 and good type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 750, cotton, cottonseed oilcake Punjab new with bag low quality was up by Rs 50 to s 800 and good type was higher by Rs 20 to Rs 850.
Cotton oilcake with bag Sindh old inferior type was higher by Rs 110 to Rs 810 and low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 820 and cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh new inferior type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 870 and fine type was up by Rs 60 to Rs 900, they said.
On the cereal side moong Punjab was sharply up by Rs 125 to Rs 3625 and urad from Burma gained Rs 50 to Rs 1850-2050, other sectors rice and grams did not show any change due to balanced demand supply position, they said.
In the meantime, some commodity experts said that the government must solve the transporters' problem, since they went on strike, the shrinking supplies may cause further increase in the prices during the month of Ramazan.
