At least 50 militants were killed and many others injured in security forces operation on Saturday in Swat and Bajaur Agency. In Swat, 40 militants were killed and number of others injured in operation launched on Saturday by security forces in Kabbal Tehsil of Swat.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) sources said those killed also include prominent commanders of militants. Two security personnel also got martyred and three injured in the operation. The sources said the forces are successfully moving towards main centre and training camp of militants in Kabbal. Operation will continue till cleansing of area from militants and restoration of peace.
Meanwhile, five persons including three police personnel were killed and 24 others wounded when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden vehicle into Chaar Bagh police station in Swat on Saturday morning.
In Bajaur Agency, 10 militants were killed in ongoing operation of security forces against extremists. According to official sources, security forces hit hideouts of militants in Tangkhatta, Kiralla and Mullakili areas by gunship helicopters, artillery and mortar fire.
According to another report, five persons were killed and six others injured when a shell landed at a house in Khar, Agency Headquarter of Bajaur on Saturday. And in Kurram Agency, four people were killed and eight others injured on Saturday in ongoing clashes between rival groups of tribesmen.
