The Karachi Port handled 140,998 tonnes of cargo including 88,318 tonnes of import, 52,680 tonnes of export cargo and 4,176 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The freights comprised of 83,897 tonnes of dry cargo including 52,019 tonnes of general cargo; 11,968 tonnes of coal; 2,160 tonnes of rock phosphate; 11,432 tonnes of cement; 6,318 tonnes of clinker and 57,101 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Hanjin Qingdao, Kapitan Byankin, Bengal Orchid, Gingko, Noor-e-Madina and Nova Sky sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz Don Franc Bulic, Kapitan Byankin, Mir Damad, Apl Jebel Ali, Apl Shenzhen, Kota Ekspres, Nova Sky and Neptune are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Apl Shenzhen, Kota Ekspres and Soon Fu expected to sail on Thursday while another six vessels viz Sea Princess, Lalazar, Don Franc Bulic, MT Johar, Sea Bloom and Neptune are expected to sail on Friday.
Ten vessels viz Grigoroussa-1, Rhoneborg, Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Conti Valcucia, Indian Express, New Delhi Express, Adriatic Arrow, Erria Vietnam, Sidratul Muntaha and Star Kappa are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 87,492 tonnes including 76,148 tonnes of import 11,344 tonnes of export cargo and 1,655 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Thursday. The cargoes comprised of 29,151 tonnes diesel oil; 6,552 tonnes of palm oil; 6,145 tonnes of wheat; 3,019 tonnes of chemicals; 13,296 tonnes of iron ore; 5,872 tonnes of cement and 23,457 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Container vessel viz ACX Marguerite sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while another three ships namely MV Christina, MT Qem Star and CV MSC Rosa-M are expected to sail on the same day. A total of nine ships namely CMA CGM Nilgai, Mare Atlantic, Global Jupiter, Gem of Rozi, Med Salvador, Energy Falcon, Mustafa Bay, Orient-II and Captain Markos carrying containers, crude oil, palm oil, coke, rape seed and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Nine vessels viz CV ACX Marguerite, CV MSC Rosa-M, MV Christina, MV Bernica, MV St. Mark, MT Qem Star, MV Sulawasi Palm, MT Vema Ocean and MV Iran Hamzeh are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, palm oil; diesel oil and iron ore respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely CV CMA CGM Nilgai and MT Orient-II are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Three vessels viz CV Maersk Iowa, MT Sea Lion and MT Chemroute Sun with containers furnace oil and phosphoric acid are due to arrive on Thursday while three more vessels viz New Delhi Express, CV Maersk Novazzano and MV Babitonga are due to arrive on Friday. Two ships namely Carolina and Prem Pride carrying iron ore and crude oil are also due to arrive.
