National Institute of Vacuum Science & Technology (Ninvast) organised a seminar on Vacuum Science and Technology (VST) on August 19-20, 2008. The director of the institute highlighted the institute's objectives and its planned initiatives.
The emphasis, he stated remains VST specific education and training of personnel working in the industrial and research sectors of Pakistan. Moreover, the institute will also provide consultancy services and help with the maintenance of costly equipment in the field of VST. These services have immense cost saving potential for industrial applications.
Faculty members from the institute gave presentations on vacuum generation, measurement, standardisation and its applications. They emphasised the importance of research and higher education in VST for furthering technological growth of the country.Around 60 scientists and engineers from different institutes participated in the seminar. The director general of National Centre of Physics distributed completion certificates among the participants of the seminar and appreciated Ninvast on its effort to envision and organise the seminar successfully.-PR
